ZACH PARKS
OFFENSIVE RUN GAME COORDINATOR/OFFENSIVE LINE - 1ST SEASON
Zach Parks enters his first season at Graceland as the Offensive Run Game Coordinator while coaching the offensive line unit. He will also oversee the strength and conditioning for the Yellowjackets.
Parks previously spent three seasons at NCAA Division II Southern Arkansas University as an assistant coach. He oversaw the SAU running backs and tight ends.
Prior to Southern Arkansas Parks served as the offensive line coach for one year at NCAA Division II Northern State University (S.D.). While in Aberdeen, Parks coached an offensive line that helped the Wolves’ passing attack rank fourth in the NSIC in passing yards per game and finish in the top ten of the league in total offense.
Prior to Northern State, Parks served three seasons at Dakota Wesleyan and coordinated an offense that ranked in the top-5 in the NAIA for total yards in both 2016 and 2017. In addition to the high yardage marks, the Tigers ranked in the top-10 in the NAIA in points per game, third down conversion percentage, first downs per game, and passing efficiency. He coached the 2016 and 2017 GPAC Offensive Player of the Year in Dillon Turner.
Off the field, Parks implemented the “First Day High Fives” program with the local youth programs in the area and coordinator service projects which totaled over 900 hours each year.
Before his stint at DWU, Parks spent two seasons at the University of Jamestown as the run game coordinator/video coordinator. Parks coached three offensive linemen to first team all-conference honors during his time with the Jimmies and won a conference title in 2013.
He began his collegiate coaching career at his alma mater, the University of Montana Western, as a student assistant offensive line coach in 2008. Parks then accepted a full-time position with the Bulldogs, spending three seasons as the offensive line coach and one as the defensive line coach and video coordinator. He coached three All-Frontier Conference student-athletes on the offensive line, and guided UMW to a rushing defense improvement of 80 yards per game.
Parks’ collegiate playing career began at Modesto Junior College on the offensive line. He then attended the University of Montana Western where he played for two seasons and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Modern History. Parks also earned a Master's of Science in Kinesiology from Southern Arkansas University. He and his wife, Lindsey, reside in Lamoni with their two dogs, Royal and Lola.
COLIN MCQUILLAN
DEFENSIVE RUN GAME AND SPECIAL TEAMS COORDINATOR/DEFENSIVE LINE - 1ST SEASON
Colin McQuillan enters his first season at Graceland as the Defensive Run Game Coordinator and Defensive Line Coach. He will also be the Yellowjackets Social Media Coordinator along with overseeing all camps both on and off campus.
McQuillan came to Graceland from Southwestern Oklahoma State University, where he was the Defensive Coordinator for four seasons. In his four seasons at SWOSU, McQuillan guided a defense which had two individuals selected to play in postseason All-Star games, First-Team Academic All-American, All-Conference DB (Led Great American Conference in INT/PBU), Pre-Season D2 All-American DB, two Academic All-District, and 12 Academic All-GAC.
Prior to SWOSU, McQuillan coached for six seasons at Missouri Western State University, over two different stints. Most recent, he served as the Griffons’ running backs coach in 2017, to lead the second-best rushing attack in the Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA). In addition to his coaching duties, he served as the Recruiting Coordinator and Social Media Coordinator for Missouri Western Football.
From 2015-16, McQuillan served as a graduate assistant at Missouri Western, coaching the linebackers and defensive backs. He had two linebackers earn All-MIAA honorable mention during the 2016 season and all four starters in the Griffon secondary garnered All-MIAA honors in 2015, led by All-American cornerback Mike Jordan, who was a finalist for the Cliff Harris Award before signing as an undrafted free agent with the Los Angeles Rams. Two other players McQuillan coached received pro-opportunities with cornerback Sam Brown signing as a free agent with the Baltimore Ravens and Elroy Douglas getting drafted by Hamilton Tiger Cats of the Canadian Football League. Elroy Douglas currently is on roster with the Kansas City Chiefs.
McQuillan started his college coaching career as an assistant at Missouri Western from 2010-12 before coaching in the high school ranks for three seasons. He spent two years at Riverside High School in Wathena, Kansas, as an assistant football coach and head baseball coach before moving to KC Wyandotte High School as the head strength and conditioning coach and offensive coordinator for the 2014-15 school year. During his undergraduate years, McQuillan was the assistant football and basketball coach at Union Star High School from 2008-10.
A native of Wathena, Kansas, McQuillan earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Physical Education from Missouri Western in 2011 before completing a Master’s Degree in Sports and Fitness Management from MWSU in 2016. He and his wife, Kayla, reside in Lamoni with their daughter, Myer Donn.
